my approach

We increasingly perceive the world through digital windows. Painting – art – is displayed to us behind smooth, backlit screens. I use this phenomenon as a starting point for my work. Bringing the digital back into an analogue work process. The glass enhances the luminosity of the colors, as well as the surfaces and the lights of our monitors. My glass plates are painted on the back. I peel shapes out of the material. It is an interplay between engaging with the intuitive - the movement controlled by the body and the controlled cropping of the colors and the glass. A work is usually not created as the implementation of a concrete idea, but rather in the editing process - as a dialogue with the material. I work “out of the glass”.
